EMERGENCY WATER EXTRACTION

What counts as a
water emergency?

Water you can see. A pipe that let go overnight, a water heater that dumped its tank, a washing machine hose that split, a basement with an inch of water on the floor. If water is standing on a surface right now, it is spreading into the next surface, and extraction is the first job.

HOW IT WORKS

What should you do before we arrive?

01

Stop the source if you safely can

The main shutoff is usually at the meter or where the line enters the house.

02

Kill power if water is near outlets

Kill power to the affected area at the breaker if water is near outlets or appliances. If you are not sure, leave it and stay out.

03

Move things off the wet floor

Move rugs, boxes, and furniture legs off the wet floor. Put foil or blocks under furniture you cannot move.

04

Take a few photos

Do not start tearing anything out.

05

Call VetDry

A person answers, and you get a real arrival window.

06

We take it from there

Extraction, removal of what cannot be saved, and drying equipment set where the readings say it belongs.

WHAT TO KNOW

How does VetDry
extract water?

Portable and truck-mounted extraction pulls water out of carpet, pad, and hard floors. Weighted extraction tools press water up out of carpet and pad instead of leaving it to evaporate over a week. In basements we pump standing water out before any drying can begin. As soon as the surface water is gone, air movers and dehumidifiers go in, because extraction without drying just moves the problem into the walls.

A person answers the phone and you get a real arrival window, not a promise off a website.

Clear Communication

You will know what is wet, what is drying, and what comes next, at every step.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Why is speed the whole point?

Every hour water sits, it moves into materials that cost more to dry or cannot be dried at all. Carpet pad, drywall, subfloor, cabinets, insulation. The faster the water comes out, the more of the house you keep. That is the reason VetDry is built around rapid emergency response, and the reason the phone is answered by a person.
