MOLD REMEDIATION

Why does western Kentucky grow so much mold?

Humid summers, wet springs, and a lot of houses on crawl spaces and block basements. Mold needs moisture, a food source, and time. Drywall, wood, and paper are food. Our climate supplies the moisture. Time is the part you control, and most mold jobs we see are water jobs that sat for weeks: a slow leak under a sink, a damp crawl space, a bathroom fan that vents into the attic, a water loss somebody dried by eye.

WHAT TO KNOW

When is mold a do-it-yourself job and when is it not?

A small patch of surface mildew on tile grout or a shower wall is cleaning, not remediation. Mold on drywall, wood, insulation, or inside a cavity, mold covering more than a small area, mold that keeps returning, or anyone in the house with breathing problems means call a professional. If you are not sure, call and describe it. We will tell you honestly whether it is our kind of job.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Where does mold hide in a house?

Behind bathroom vanities, under kitchen sinks, in the wall behind the washing machine, on the underside of the roof deck in an attic with a bad fan vent, on floor joists over a damp crawl space, and inside any wall that got wet once and was never opened up. See crawl space and attic mold and mold after water damage.

A new brand, not a new team. VetDry is owned by Anthony Brown, an Army infantry veteran who spent four and a half years managing two locations of a large national restoration franchise in Indiana. Production Manager Zachary Brown came up as a technician and production manager in franchise restoration. Together the team brings nearly 10 years of combined experience, plus working relationships with local insurance professionals, adjusters, and plumbers.
